Packet Radio Node OK0NOS
There is a packet radio node OK0NOS in the club OK2KOS. It is one of two Ostrava's PR nodes whose system operator (sysop) is Ivan OK2BMU, member of OK2KOS. OK0NOS is linked to the network only by radio links First of them is on 1296 MHz band to OK0NO on the mountain Velky Javornik in Beskydy mountains. The second one is on 2400 MHz band using WIFI technology for quite short distance to the node OK0NTU in VSB - Technical University Ostrava. There are many internet links from the Univarsity to the Czech Republic and abroad. Userport is in 70 cm band on frequency 433.725 MHz speed 1200Bd and modulation AFSK. There is also planned high speed userport on 23 cm band. This userport is still not completed and in view of drop of interest in packet radio as a source of information I don't expect to complete it. Details about node OK0NTU you can find here (mostly in Czech). Node is in the metalic cabinet: View to the cabinet: Upper side from left: LinkTRX 23cm (link to the OK0NO), LAN switch, standing radiostation Maxon SL70 for user port 70cm, laying Nokia for 70cm backup link to OK0NTU and entirely right Ovislink WL 1120AP for 2,4 GHz link to OK0NTU. In the middle is motherboard (386SX) including SCC board (by OM4AQ), harddisk anf floppy, modems. Down are power supplies for PC and TRX's and measuring of electrical power. Certainly main circuit breaker and overvoltage protection. Node antennas: There are two antennas on the boom (in the middle) for user ports. Left is colinear antenna for 433 MHz and right antenna for 1296 MHz band. Right above under parabolic antenna (down) are two home made panel antennas for links on 23cm band. Right is for link to OK0NO and panel antenna beamig "to us" is for originally planned to OK0NTU. This link has been finally put in practice on 2,4 GHz band. Here is antenna of link to OK0NTU: A view from QTH OK2KOS towards to student's home at VSB-Technical University where is OK0NTU located. It is on the roof in right white building :
